You Have Reached Your Creative Destination

San Luis Sound is a recording studio located in Broomfield, Colorado housed in a building that started it's life as a pipe organ chapel. Both digital and analog peacefully coexist here. Hardwood floors, 20 foot vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows set the mood while a collection of both vintage and modern gear capture and help to create the sound. Engineer/producer/composer Joe Turse heads up San Luis Sound. He brings 25 years of the afore mentioned talent to his work.

Not To Toot Our Own Horn, But...

"Joe is a real find among sound engineers.  He's professional, responsive, communicative, flexible, trustworthy, and has a great ear.  He adapts to your needs - he'll let you direct the recording or the mix if you know exactly what you want, or he'll provide expert consultation as producer if that's what you prefer.  The studio is absolutely gorgeous, with vaulted ceilings, stained glass, a comfortable hangout area, rugs over hardwood floor, and lots of great instruments of all kinds.  I look forward to my next opportunity to work with Joe, and I never hesitate to recommend him to friends and music colleagues."

"A room as expansive and friendly as the San Luis Valley, an experienced and knowledgeable engineer who's easy to communicate with and pays attention to what you say, state of the art equipment and a flexible schedule -- San Luis Sound pretty much has it all, yup!!  Even made ME feel comfortable...."

"Joe Turse is our first choice when we need a composer for our videos. It doesn't matter what music genre a project requires: rock, classical, world, jazzy, acoustic, Joe delivers! He listens to your needs (even when you're unsure of what they are!) and gives you lots of creative options to work with. Joe achieves authenticity by playing multiple live instruments himself as well as bringing in musicians to record just the right sound for a specific scene. He is easy to work with, flexible, and on time- a true creative professional with a real passion for his craft."

Let The Music Do The Talking

Below are samples of albums I’ve worked on. In addition to recording albums and EP’s, San Luis Sound’s services also include audio restoration, mastering, digital editing, original composition and film scoring, among others.

Cool By Association

"Monday's Hero"

Engineered, mixed & co-produced by Joe Turse Mastered by Matt Sandoski

After a handful of albums and EP’s already recorded at San Luis Sound, this song was to come from their next great opus. Sadly, as is so often the course with young bands, they dismantled themselves after all of our tracking and only this one song was mixed. The sessions were, as usual, quite a bit of fun with this bunch. The recording of this album saw the band experimenting with guitar sounds and layers that they never had before.

Lisa Genee

"Wishing Well"

Engineered and mixed by Joe Turse

Girl sings and plays guitar, girl writes heart-wrenching songs. I record three of them one night. Great song writing makes my job easy.

"Gimme Back My Time"

Edited & mixed by Joe Turse

All the way from Sienna Italy, this was a wonderful on-line collaboration. Eeko’s tracks were clean and well recorded. A song that feels so good is easy to mix.
